Susan Brooks, M.Ed, is a Senior Leadership Consultant with Executive Development Associates. As a communication coach, corporate trainer, career counselor and facilitator, Susan has been coaching business professionals in the skill of creating successful working relationships since 1990.
In the late 90’s and through 2007, she designed and taught one of the top-rated classes at IBM in their Leadership Excellence program, training over 2,000 engineers, first-time managers and account service managers. Recently, she has been traveling throughout the U.S. and Great Britain working with Microsoft, Cisco and other Fortune 100 companies, in uniquely designed coaching classes that provide influence and leadership skills to individual contributors, managers, and directors.
Susan’s career began in the banking industry, and after an early onset “mid-life crisis”, she returned to school and received a Masters Degree in Psychology from University of Houston. Talking too much to be a good therapist, she has been a Corporate Trainer and Coach ever since!
Currently, her coaching work is focused on “Presence Polishing,” supporting individuals engaged in high stakes conversations (job interviews, presentations, leading meetings) to create powerful first impressions and high professional credibility. whether working with groups or individuals, Susan has a passion for creating collaborative communication environments and a skill at imparting information in an enthusiastic and credible way.
Her education in psychology and work background has given Susan experience in the following assessment instruments: D.i.S.C, Myers Briggs, Strong Campbell and Birkman.
Susan has lived and worked abroad (in Great Britain) and continues to travel outside of the US, as often as possible. She currently resides in Austin, Texas.
