Sandy Ogg

Biography:

Sandy is an Operating Partner in the Private Equity Group.

Before joining Blackstone in 2011, Mr. Ogg was the Chief Human Resources Officer for Unilever based in London. Prior to Unilever he was Senior Vice President, Leadership, Learning and Performance at Motorola.  He was responsible for three critical areas at Motorola. The first was leadership supply where he served Motorola by ensuring that the organization had the right people in the right positions at the right time for Motorola to win. Next was learning. The learning responsibilities supported Motorola’s sustained success through superior learning and development solutions. That included managing Motorola University. The last area was performance. That included performance management, organization effectiveness, and Motorola’s next generation Six Sigma® business improvement programs. The goal of that function was to create and enhance the performance capability within Motorola to drive individual, team and organizational performance.

Sandy joined Motorola in 1998 in the Change Management/Organization Effectiveness role to assist in the transformation of all Communications businesses. Prior to joining Motorola, he spent 15 years as a Leadership Development and Change Management consultant - clients included Johnson & Johnson, PepsiCo, General Electric and Motorola. He also held positions of President, Center for Leadership Studies; Managing Director, Dove Associates; and Founder, Via Consulting Group. Before consulting, Sandy started as line officer for the United States Coast Guard holding various positions doing Search and Rescue activities and becoming a highly decorated Commanding Officer.

Sandy has a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the United States Coast Guard Academy, an MBA from the James L. Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, and a Master of Arts in Education and Human Development from George Washington University.
