Donna Miles

Biography

Donna J. Miles is an Associate Professor in the Center for Management Communication at the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business and a Senior Consultant for EDA. She brings over 25 years of corporate experience to the classroom. Donna is a two-time winner of the Golden Apple Award, one of the most prestigious teaching awards conferred by the Marshall School in recognition of her outstanding performance. She was also the recipient of the Teaching in Excellence Award and is frequently named “Professor of the Year” by Gamma Sigma Alpha and Alpha Lambda Delta, two of USC’s Greek Honor Societies. She serves as Faculty Advisor to the Marshall School’s International Strategic Case Competition Team, the Trojan Consulting Group, the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity, and Graduate Women in Business.
Donna has worked for and now provides consulting and executive coaching services to Fortune 500 companies and international consulting firms, as well as small and mid-sized companies. Some of her clients include Dryers' Grand Ice Cream, the Pepsi Bottling Group, Contessa Food Products, Merrill Lynch, Bimbo Bakeries USA, Bashas Inc., The Ensign Group, Nestle USA, Bristol Myers Squibb, the Los Angeles Unified School District, The Kroger Company - Ralphs & Food 4 Less Divisions, M-Flex, Power One, The Thailand Government Savings Bank, Wescom Credit Union, the Mayor’s Office of Los Angeles, Navigant Consulting, Inc., Watson Wyatt Worldwide, Oakley, Inc., Distribution Plus, Inc., Guess?, Inc. and BDO Seidman, LLP.
Donna is a seasoned trainer and facilitator, who has designed and conducted management development workshops for over 25 years on topics ranging from strategic communication to team and leadership development. She is a certified Myers Briggs Type Indicator Seminar Leader and conducts a wide variety of workshops using this instrument, both nationally and internationally. She also speaks regularly on personality type and temperament. Her areas of expertise include relationship management, strategic communication, public speaking, negotiation and persuasion, team and leadership development, emotional intelligence, career management, and executive communication.
Donna did her doctoral work at the University of Pennsylvania and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Pennsylvania State University and a Master of Arts from the University of Southern California.
She is a resident of Manhattan Beach, an avid golfer, and a dedicated community volunteer.
